However, having a customer support number to call can be super helpful as well, especially if the site\u2019s support team is somewhat&#8211;or even completely&#8211;unresponsive to listing requests via email or online request forms.<\/p>\n<p>With the amount of time and effort I\u2019ve spent over the years doing <a href=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/listings-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">citation audit and cleanup work on the top sites<\/a>, I can guarantee you that not every high quality citation site has a support helpline to call. Some sites handle all their customers\u2019 listing requests via email or contact form only. Other sites rely on phone support to handle many requests. My purpose in this article is to provide you the best support numbers that I\u2019ve come across and have continually used\/had success with over the years I\u2019ve been in the local search industry.<\/p>\n<h3>All Support Helplines Are Not Created Equal<\/h3>\n<p>Keep in mind that some support lines are more helpful than others, and depending on the site it is sometimes just better to submit a request online than it is to call the support team. On the other end of the spectrum, in some instances you\u2019ll have much more success calling the site than you would if you submitted an online request. There are also some sites that are equally as helpful either way.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, my goal is to aid you in your audit and cleanup efforts and to inform you in detail about the effectiveness and reliability of each available support line on these top sites, and share any tips. I\u2019ve tried my best to only include the sites with pleasant, friendly, available, not-overbearingly-salesy people to talk to, and I included helpful instructions for the few sites that require a brief voice message. I hope this helps and good luck!<\/p>\n<h2>1 &#8211; Google My Business: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1-844-491-9665<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong>What it\u2019s used for:<\/strong> Any issue, including verification support, updating listings, help with creating a listing, and removing\/merging duplicates.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours:<\/strong> Mon-Fri 9 AM &#8211; 6 PM EST<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/GMB-Help-Number.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><strong>The highly recommended alternative support option:<\/strong> Let\u2019s be honest. Although calling GMB Support is an available option, contacting GMB Support via <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/googlemybiz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/GoogleMyBusiness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a>, in my opinion, is the way to go. They can help you with anything and are usually more efficient than the support helpline. <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/business\/contact\/business_c2c_m?from=cuf_c2c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">You can also fill out this form and request to talk to a specialist<\/a> about a variety of issues, such as transferring ownership, verifications, business information edits, and so on.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Interesting fact:<\/strong> the Twitter\/Facebook GMB support teams can also help with \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/searchengineland.com\/google-fixing-permanently-closed-problem-242364\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">moving<\/a>\u201d old Google Maps listings to the current Google Maps business listing, and the reviews (if there are any) from the old listing will transfer over to the main listing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional resource:<\/strong> Check out our recent, thorough <a href=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/blog\/whitesparks-guide-to-optimizing-google-my-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">guide to optimizing Google My Business listings<\/a> to help you get better results for your business.<\/p>\n<h2>2 &#8211; ExpressUpdate.com | Infogroup: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressupdate.com\/call\/support\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(800) 794-1404<\/a> | Data Aggregator<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What it\u2019s used for:<\/strong> Callback line for content feedback. Helpline specifically geared to help business owners who update their own information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours:<\/strong> 8:30 a.m. &#8211; 5:30 p.m. EST<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Express-Update-InfoGroup.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><strong>Note for 3rd-party SEO\u2019s:<\/strong> The Infogroup Content Feedback support reps are very adamant about helping business owners&#8211;not 3rd-party SEO\u2019s&#8211;with free listing support. Below are the three ways I\u2019ve found to be successful in resolving free listing issues on Expressupdate.com:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>#1. Most Effective Way to Get Free Listing Support on ExpressUpdate.com<\/em><\/span><br \/>\nThe absolute best way to get free listing support from Infogroup is to have the actual business owner call Infogroup directly at (800) 794-1404 from the phone number on the listing, or have the business owner email <a href=\"mailto:contentfeedback@infogroup.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contentfeedback@infogroup.com<\/a> using the business owner\u2019s email regarding whatever issue your having (verification, updating info, removing duplicates, etc).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Second Best Way<\/em><\/span><br \/>\nThe second best way is to get on a 3-way call with the business owner (or an authorized employee who works in the office) and an Infogroup content feedback support representative.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Third Best Way<\/em><\/span><br \/>\nThe third best way to get free listing support is to email <a href=\"mailto:contentfeedback@infogroup.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contentfeedback@infogroup.com<\/a> yourself (assuming you are a 3rd-party SEO) using an email linked to the client\u2019s domain.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>The Worst Way<\/em><\/span><br \/>\nIf you&#8211;a 3rd party SEO&#8211;merely call the Content Feedback support line from your 3rd-party work number, or email them using a non-domain email, your chances of them assisting you with free listing issues are much smaller.<\/p>\n<h2>3 &#8211; Acxiom: <a href=\"https:\/\/mybusinesslistingmanager.myacxiom.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">866-750-5438<\/a> | Data Aggregator<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What it\u2019s used for:<\/strong> Phone verifications, login issues, IP address errors, questions about editing\/adding\/removing listings, and any other issue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phone Tree Options:<\/strong> You most likely will never get a hold of anyone by simply calling Acxiom\u2019s My Business Listing Manager Support line. But the support line does have a message system that addresses six common issues (e.g. verifying listings and issues involving logging in, IP addresses, editing listings, adding new listings, and removing duplicates).<\/p>\n<p>Each message explains in detail what to do to resolve each issue (sometimes it would involve leaving them a voice message [e.g. verifying listings). Now keep in mind that Acxiom is very unique from other citation sites in how they have you resolve common listing issues, so I have provided a transcription of what the automated voice tells you (mainly the key points) in each of the seven options to choose from in their phone tree:<\/p>\n<h3>Acxiom\u2019s 7 Phone Tree Options<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Option #1:\u00a0Phone verifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must call from phone number on the listing (business owner\/employee can do it).<\/li>\n<li>Leave a brief message including listing business name and username of account.<\/li>\n<li>If no one is able to call from the phone number on the listing, email <a href=\"mailto:mblm@acxiom.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mblm@acxiom.com<\/a> with the listing information and attach a recent phone bill with the listing phone number indicated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Option #2: Login issues<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reset password via forgot my username\/password on login page.<\/li>\n<li>Clear cookies and browsing history.<\/li>\n<li>Try logging in via another browser.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Option #3: IP address errors<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only one account can be created per IP address.<\/li>\n<li>Multiple listings may be managed under one main account.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIf you are managing listings for multiple businesses, please contact our bulk upload team at <a href=\"mailto:directoryreps@acxiom.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">directoryreps@acxiom.com<\/a>, and by calling us as 866-977-6019.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Option #4: Editing listings<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Changes will be updated within 30 days.<\/li>\n<li>Note that the business name and phone number cannot be changed.<\/li>\n<li>To make changes to the business name and phone number, select the listing and click on \u201cdelete selected\u201d to remove the listing. Add a new listing with the correct business name and\/or phone number from the main listings page of your account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Option #5: Adding new listings<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Upload proof documentation upon submitting listing. Example of acceptable documentation are the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Federal Tax License Letter<\/li>\n<li>Business License or Sales Tax License<\/li>\n<li>Fictitious Name Registration<\/li>\n<li>DBA License<\/li>\n<li>Utility Bill<\/li>\n<li>Phone Bill<\/li>\n<li>Insurance Certificate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Approval process is approximately 3-5 business days.<\/li>\n<li>Note that the business name and address on proof documentation must match the information on your registration.<\/li>\n<li>They do not accept documents from internet websites, W-9 forms, copies of business cards, or Word documents as proof of ownership.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Option #6: Removing duplicate listings<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Send business name, address, and phone number to <a href=\"mailto:mblm@acxiom.com\">mblm@acxiom.com<\/a>. A confirmation will be sent to the email address on the account once the listing is deleted. May take up to 30 days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Option #7: All other questions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All other questions specific to the account. Wait to hear the short message, then press zero to speak to an operator; however, you will most likely end up having to leave a message. I suggest just emailing <a href=\"mailto:mblm@acxiom.com\">mblm@acxiom.com<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> If the helpline doesn\u2019t cover your issue, emailing mblm@acxiom.com is your best option.<\/p>\n<h2>4 &#8211; Neustar Localeze: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neustarlocaleze.biz\/contact-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1-800-960-3755<\/a> (press 2 for technical support or data issues) | Data Aggregator<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What it\u2019s used for:<\/strong> Any free listing issue. The only thing they cannot do is create new listings on their end. Creating a new listing costs money on Neustar Localeze, but updating existing listings is completely free.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Neustar-Localeze-Help-Number.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><strong>An equally as helpful support option:<\/strong> localezesupport@neustar.biz<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Get Whitespark&#8217;s Help With the Local Data Aggregators<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Skip the headache of trying to deal with the Data Aggregator sites (Acxiom, InfoGroup, Neustar Localeze, and Factual) on your own, and get us to do the work for you! We&#8217;ll audit and cleanup your existing listings, remove any duplicates, and add your business if you aren&#8217;t already listed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Citation-Audit-and-Cleanup-Graphic.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>5 &#8211; DandB.com: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbb.org\/us\/ca\/malibu\/profile\/business-services\/dun-bradstreet-credibility-corp-1286-18428\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(866) 584-0283<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong>What it\u2019s used for:<\/strong> This is the Dun &amp; Bradstreet Customer Service number, and they do their best to be helpful with anything&#8211;from update issues or login issues to dissolving D-U-N-S numbers (i.e. removing duplicate listings).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Choose the Credibility Review product:<\/strong> Dun &amp; Bradstreet has many products and can be a very confusing citation site. You want to use their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dandb.com\/businessdirectory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Credibility Review<\/a> product (the free version) to add and update listings.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Dun-and-BradStreet-Help-Number.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><strong>Note:<\/strong> If you have trouble claiming a D&amp;B Credibility Review listing, an alternative option would be simply calling the helpline and asking them to update the existing listing information on their end (without even claiming the listing).<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is a D-U-N-S Number:<\/strong> Every listing on dandb.com has a D-U-N-S number, and in order to create a new listing, you need to create a D-U-N-S number. Read more about this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dnb.com\/duns-number.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>6 &#8211; Yelp: <a href=\"https:\/\/biz.yelp.com\/support\/contact_form\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(877) 767-9357<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong>What it\u2019s used for:<\/strong> This is the Yelp Advertising number, but these advertising representatives can also help with free listing issues, including removing\/merging duplicates, updating business info, and login issues.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Yelp-Support-Number.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><strong>Note:<\/strong> Each Yelp rep who answers the phone will say, \u201cYelp Advertising, this is so-and-so.\u201d Don\u2019t be scared by the \u201cadvertising\u201d word. They can also resolve your business listing issue. But if they end up not fulfilling your free listing request like they promised, you may have to practice a little persistence.<\/p>\n<h2>7 &#8211; YellowPages: adsolutions.yp.com\/contact-us<\/h2>\n<p><strong>How to reach the free listing support line:<\/strong> Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/adsolutions.yp.com\/contact-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">adsolutions.yp.com\/contact-us<\/a>, enter the business zip code, and call the unique \u201cCustomer Service\u201d number provided. They also have a paid package that helps with bulk uploads for multi-locations businesses.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/n49-Contact-Information-.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>13 &#8211; Angie\u2019s List: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.angieslistbusinesscenter.com\/contact-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">866-843-LIST<\/a> (5478) (option 2, 2)<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What it\u2019s used for:<\/strong> They assist in updating free business listings on their end, and also with advertising if you\u2019re interested. As for removing duplicate listings, the reps you talk to can\u2019t remove those themselves, but they can submit a case to the Business Center to have them removed.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Angies-List-Phone-Support.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>14 &#8211; BBB.org: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbb.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Support number varies based on geographical area<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><strong>How to find the right number to call:<\/strong> Go to bbb.org and \u201cSet Your Home Location.\u201d Then click on \u201cContact\u201d under \u201cAbout BBB\u201d in the footer. Unique email addresses are also provided for each geographical area.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/BBB-Find-Your-Support-Number.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Additional Notes<\/h3>\n<p>Like I mentioned before, I was aiming to only include the sites with support helplines that are actually useful when it comes to resolving free listing issues. To stay true to that, I had to cut about half my original list, due to a few reasons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>way too salesy,<\/li>\n<li>reluctant to help with free listing issues,<\/li>\n<li>the number is international,<\/li>\n<li>totally unreliable, or<\/li>\n<li>they just refer you to other support options anyway, like email support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As you might have noticed, some of the support numbers I shared with you appear to be strictly sales numbers (e.g. Neustar Localeze and Yelp); however, the \u201csales\u201d reps on those sites actually do help with free listing issues as well. So, if you ever need to call someone about a free listing issue, but are only running into sales\/advertising numbers, I say call those sales numbers\/lines\/options all you want and simply try to resolve your free listing issue with the sales reps.
