The likelihood of purchase peaks at a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/spiegel.medill.northwestern.edu\/online-reviews\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">star rating of 4 &#8211; 4.7<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, then decreases as the rating gets closer to 5 stars.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Social proof is a powerful way to show off the experience of other customers, and why that website visitor should choose your business. We recommend you use the following format:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Top Keywords + City | Your Business Name | List of local neighborhoods\/localities <\/i><\/b><b><i><br \/>\n<\/i><\/b><b><i>+ Keyword<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contrary to popular belief, it\u2019s not necessary to keep your title tags under 60 characters. While searchers will not be able to read the text beyond the suggested desktop character limit of about 60, this text has been shown to still affect your ranking. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/headley\">Joel Headley of Patient Pop<\/a> has done extensive research on this and recommends appending title tags with localities (the names of neighbourhoods and smaller regions in your area) to help with ranking.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThis is not expanding your search radius that\u2019s not what we\u2019re trying to do here, what we\u2019re trying to do is make your page more relevant for the search term that already exists by using more content that\u2019s already in this area that you should be ranking for.\u201d\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/blog\/wlss-day-2\/#relevance\">Joel Headley (Local Search Summit 2020)<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>==<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s a <strong>quick and easy way to identify localities<\/strong> when you don\u2019t have access to Google\u2019s API:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based on your business location, search your Zip\/Postal code in Google Maps.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Search the area to identify surrounding localities. In Maps, zoom out to identify the larger localities and neighbourhoods.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add the localities to your title tag (your updated title tag will include new and duplicate localities).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Meta Description<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Include a quick description that covers the most important information on your contact page, the best way to contact your business and a short summary of your business. Write this for your customers. Meta descriptions are not keyword-sensitive so use this to be as informative and helpful as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Internal Links<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make sure you are linking to other pages on your website whenever possible. This helps search engines understand the relevance, value, and importance of other pages on your website.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>External Links<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Linking externally to another website won\u2019t necessarily help your ranking, but it helps Google understand the relationship between your business and the other website. For example: if you\u2019re a construction company, linking to an informative page from your city\u2019s website on local regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Include a clear call-to-action button<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re going to do all this work to make your contact page awesome, don\u2019t forget that the goal is to convert visitors to customers! This means you\u2019ll need to have thoughtfully placed calls-to-action throughout the page all driving the same conversion goal: connecting with your business. If using buttons, catch visitors\u2019 attention with a bright, contrasting color to draw the eye and a bold font that\u2019s easy to read on all devices.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Embed your Google My Business Map<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Embed your Google My Business listing\u2019s map directly onto the page so people can see your star ratings, location on the map, and can click for directions. This further solidifies to Google that your website and GMB profile are connected and builds trust for website visitors.
