This is one of the most common questions business owners have about their Google Business Profiles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The answer: There&#8217;s the old way and the new way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The old way we all know: Click &#8220;&#8230;&#8221; next to the review and report it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new way, however, is cooler: use Google&#8217;s new dedicated form for reporting reviews. In this video, I take you through the review removal process using this new tool, and I give you some hot tips on review reporting.<\/span><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xHbl8LPp-zM\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>Get more reviews and improve your online reputation with <a href=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/reputation-builder\/\">Reputation Builder<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Video Transcript<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the most common questions that business owners have is \u201cHow do I get rid of a negative review on my Google Business Profile?\u201d And there are two ways to do it: the old way and the new way that many people don&#8217;t know about.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The old way to report a review<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The traditional way that people would get rid of a negative review is you click this little \u201c&#8230;\u201d on the review and you can click \u201cReport review\u201d.<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Screenshot-2023-03-20-at-15.45.32.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can report it for any of the reasons why it might violate Google&#8217;s guidelines. Google will guide you through them.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sometimes you can just say \u201cOff-topic\u201d and Google\u2019s reviewers\/algorithm will just be like &#8220;OK&#8221; and remove the review. It\u2019s great when that happens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this case, this review is off-topic because this person never actually had an experience with the business. So, I&#8217;m going to select \u201cOff-topic: Review doesn&#8217;t pertain to an experience at or with this business.\u201d Send report. Sweet.<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Screenshot-2023-03-20-at-15.48.01.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the old way of reporting reviews. You can definitely still do it, but there&#8217;s a new way that a lot of people don&#8217;t know about.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The new way to report a review<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Google has <a href=\"http:\/\/sprk.it\/remove-review\">a dedicated form for reporting reviews<\/a> now<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This workflow is dedicated to reporting reviews for removal. Here&#8217;s how to use it.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>1. Log into the correct Google account.<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You have to be logged into the account you use to manage your Google Business Profile.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then, scroll through to find the business that you&#8217;re looking for.<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Screenshot-2023-03-20-at-15.50.14.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>2. Select &#8220;Report a new review for removal&#8221;.<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Google is going to ask you whether you want to check the status of an already reported review, or to report a new one. Select the latter and click &#8220;Continue&#8221;.<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Screenshot-2023-03-20-at-15.51.19.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>3. Find the review you&#8217;d like to report.<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scroll through the list and find the review that you want to report. Click the &#8220;Report&#8221; button.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Google will once again ask what the problem with the review is, and list the available options for you. Choose the one you see fit and click &#8220;Submit&#8221;.<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/whitespark.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Screenshot-2023-03-20-at-15.53.01.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I like to report almost all of my negative reviews as \u201coff-topic\u201d. Sometimes it works and Google removes them.<\/span><strong>Note:\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is not a guarantee that Google is going to remove a bad review, but it&#8217;s very helpful to know the process of getting rid of one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I hope that&#8217;s helpful. And if you have any negative reviews on your Google Business Profile, it&#8217;s worth it to report them. Run them through this new tool and report them. Who knows?
